Main Agenda: Mobile Learning: who's ready, willing, and able
The term "mobile learning" has different meanings to different communities. Although related to e-learning and distance education, it is distinct in its focus on learning across contexts and learning with mobile devices. One definition of mobile learning is: any sort of learning that happens when the learning is not at a fixed, predetermined location, or learning that happens when the leaner takes advantage of the learning opportunities offered by mobile technologies. In other words mobile learning decreases the limitation of learning locations with the mobility of general portable devices. The plan for this meeting is to present a brief overview on mobile learning and then to conduct a panel presentation of 2-3 schools regarding their plans and strategies for supporting mobile learning at their institutions. To facilitate gathering some information beforehand, a short online questionnaire has been setup online. Click here to access. This meeting will be a great lead-in to our meeting in July where Apple will present a hands-on demonstration of how to create and distribute materials for mobile learning.
