Main Agenda: Google Apps for Learning, Bboogle (ba-boogle) and Beyond
More and more faculty want to use the the variety of Google apps for teaching and learning. So, Northwestern University developers created a building block called Bboogle (pronounced ba-boogle). This building block works within the university's course management system (Blackboard 9.1), and enables enhanced collaboration between Northwestern faculty and students. The system was developed by NUIT with support from Blackboard and Google. Bboogle allows instructors to collaborate with students within the @U environment through docs, sites, calendars and groups. In this meeting, a Northwestern University panel will discuss bringing Google onto campus and building it into the CMS. NU was the first university to partner with Google for enhanced collaboration services to all eligible Northwestern students. Students have university provided @northwestern.edu email accounts, powered by Google Apps for Education to support and enhance their academic collaboration.
During and after the presentation, SLATE members will be encouraged to discuss their own Google integration or ask questions about what they would like to do in their own universities.
