February 2011 SLATE Meeting

Its been awhile since we have gotten together, but this is a reminder that our next monthly SLATE meeting will be on Wednesday, February 16th beginning @ 9:50am and hosted by Robert Morris University.  We will be meeting at the Downtown Campus, which is located at 401 S. State Street, room 103 on the Garden Level (use the elevators on the Van Buren side of the university across from DePaul. When you get off the elevators the room is directly in front of you).

So that Robert Morris can prepare for our visit, it is very important that you RSVP back to me by Monday, February 14th with the names of those who will be attending from your institution.  Additional information on parking, directions, etc. is at the end of this message.

Main Agenda – The iPad/Touch your stories from the classroom
Who is using the iPad or iPod Touch in innovative or interesting ways in their teaching and learning.  We will be looking to those schools who have some sort of programs on their campus - maybe you give iPads to all incoming freshman - what are the expectations or desired results that you are looking for.  Also, what interesting apps are there that you have found useful, informative, interesting and do you pass along a "favorites" list to your students, etc.

Anyone willing to add their "two-cents" to this open discussion please let me know.

PLEASE NOTE – SLATE meetings are now streamed live online!

If you are unable to attend in person – the monthly SLATE meetings are now streamed live thanks to our friends at Wimba – we are using Wimba Classroom.
