SLATE Group Blog: April 2012 SLATE Meeting

This is a reminder that our next monthly SLATE meeting will be Wednesday, April 18th beginning @ 10:00am and hosted by St. Xavier University. We will be meeting in the Warde Academic Building, room L-132.

So that St. Xavier can prepare for our visit, it is very important that you RSVP back to Ken Sadowski by Friday, April 13th with the names of those who will be attending from your institution. Additional information on parking, directions, etc. is at the end of this message. Hope to see you there.

Main Agenda – The Flipped Classroom: Turning the Classroom Inside Out Using ShareStream

Join Saint Xavier University and ShareStream for an open discussion on the Flipped Classroom. The Center for Instructional Design and Academic Technology has begun an initiative to encourage faculty to rethink their teaching style by moving the traditional lecture outside the classroom and more activity based learning into the classroom. The Classroom becomes the place to advance concepts and engage in collaborative learning. Saint Xavier is utilizing the ShareStream platform for delivering video based materials to the students. Sharestream will be here to provide a demonstration of their software and to answer questions.
