August 2014 SLATE Reminders

FYI...
THERE IS NO SLATE MEETING THIS MONTH.  Hope everyone has a great start to the new school year.  See below for important information about upcoming meetings and the annual SLATE Conference in October.
SLATE Summit & Retreat
September 26-27, 2014

The SLATE Summit & Retreat is our annual planning meeting and the last time we meet as a group before the SLATE Conference in October.  This forum also provides an avenue for you to give input, discuss priorities, and exchange ideas for next year's meetings and events, and define the goals and strategic initiatives for the group in the upcoming year.  ALL members of SLATE have an equal voice so take this opportunity to make your voice heard.  We also take some time to celebrate food, friendship, and fun.  Read More about this event.

You must register by September 15, 2014 so, please RSVP as soon as possible so we can finalize our arrangements.

SLATE Conference
October 22-24, 2014

Plan to join us for the 12th Annual SLATE Conference being held on October 22-24, 2014 and hosted by Northern Illinois University at their regional campus in Naperville, IL, which is along the Illinois Technology and Research Corridor (thirty minutes from downtown Chicago).  Over the years more than 3000 people representing over 165 unique institutions from the Midwest, across the country, and around the world have attended this conference. Recognizing that deployment issues, support concerns, teaching strategies, learning styles, best practices, etc. are common among the varied CMS/LMS clients, this conference invites everyone that is deploying and/or currently using any Web-based tools in their teaching and learning to attend.  See links below for additional information.

PLEASE NOTE: as we provided last year, there will be a Moodle SIG component for the conference, presented on Wednesday and Thursday.  The program will be available soon.
