Promoting Pedagogical Innovation and Student Engagement Through Modern Learning Spaces
Learn
how Saint Xavier University is engaging students and faculty in modern
pedagogically flexible learning spaces. These spaces are designed to
cross the line between the three spaces students often spend a great
deal of time in; the Classroom, Work, and the Coffee Shop. The rooms,
designed in partnership with Herman Miller, takes advantage of current
literature and principles of designing modern active learning spaces.
The presenters; Dr. Chris Zakrzewski, Assistant Provost for Technology
and Instructional Innovation, Dr. Renee Robinson, Associate Professor
of Communication and Michelle Carpenter, Learning Spaces Research
Program Analyst, will share how Saint Xavier and Herman Miller came
together under a common goal to research the effectiveness of their new
spaces.
