July 2009 SLATE Meeting at UIC

This is a reminder that our regularly scheduled SLATE meeting for this month will be on Wednesday, July 22nd @ 10:00am hosted by the University of Illinois - Chicago (UIC). So that UIC can prepare for our visit, please RSVP back to Ken Sadowski by Monday, July 20th with the names of those who will be attending from your institution. We will be meeting in the lower level of Stevenson Hall which is on the East side of the UIC campus, just north of the main library (between Taylor and Harrison Streets, west of Halsted). Additional information, maps, and directions can be found at the end of this message.

Agenda

The broad agenda topic is; Mobile Learning Tools. The discussion/presentations from Blackboard, Apple, and AT&T will evolve around (but not limited to) the following points:

  • What tools are available to create, offer, and access mobile learning
  • Converging of technologies: Computers and mobile phones - what's next. (iPhone 3G S)
  • Accessing information anywhere at anytime (Blackboard Learn)
  • Creating content, viewing content and collaboration (mobileme)
  • Issued raised by m-learning technologies
  • Sharing of personal experiences and what institutions are/will be doing

Parking in the UIC Halsted Street Parking Structure costs $10/day.

We will be meeting in the lower level of Stevenson Hall. Stevenson Hall is on the East side of the UIC campus just North of the main Library (between Taylor Street and Harrison Street, West of Halsted Street).
