Sad News

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of one of our SLATE friends and colleagues. Julian Scheinbuks passed away on July 26, 2010. He had been under hospice care since the beginning of July. He was 67 years old.

Julian always said he did what he loved. He was a teacher, researcher, and the Director, Office of Distance Learning, at Chicago State University. He had a passion for teaching and showed that in his involvement in many programs and initiatives at Chicago State. He was an avid supporter of SLATE and gave of his time and energy to make it a successful group. He will be greatly missed.

Julian left an endowment for scholarships for CSU students. If anyone wants to contribute they can contact the CSU Foundation.

Please join me in offering his friends and family our deepest and sincere condolences.

~ Ken
