April 2011 SLATE Meeting

This is a reminder that our next monthly SLATE meeting will be next Wednesday, April 13th beginning @ 9:50am and hosted by Northeastern Illinois University.  We will be in the Ronald Williams Library, room 310 (follow the signs).  Additional information, parking, maps, etc., can be found at the end of this message.  So that NEIU can prepare for our visit, it is very important that you RSVP back to Ken Sadowski by this Friday, April 8th with the names of those who will be attending from your institution.

Main Agenda – What to do about Testing Integrity
The topic of test integrity in the online environment is often discussed and for some faculty members is the reason they are reluctant to teach online. At NEIU, this topic is mentioned relatively constantly and so far we have very little to offer faculty members in terms of assurance that their students are being ethical.  We encourage you to share with the group what your institution has done to perhaps decrease the likelihood of cheating, whether it’s software, approaches to assessment, or anything else. This meeting is more of an open forum and will ask that as many of you as possible share your experiences and perhaps demonstrate your programs for the group.

Input from anyone using SoftwareSecure or other exam monitoring software are encouraged to participate.

PLEASE NOTE – SLATE meetings are now streamed live online!

If you are unable to attend in person – the monthly SLATE meetings are now streamed live thanks to our friends at Wimba – we are using
