Building a Culture of Innovation
Join Saint Xavier University for a two part discussion on creating a culture of innovation. During the first hour, SXU will lead a discussion on how each of our campuses have worked to create a culture of innovation on campus. By the end we should have a few new ideas to take back to our individual campus.Part two will continue the theme of innovation by showcasing a product developed as a graduate school project at Northwestern University. Louie Huang from Swift Education Systems, Inc. will demonstrate their DiLL product. The Digital Language Lab is an all-software, Mac-based alternative to the traditional language lab. Using only USB headsets and networked computers, DiLL helps language teachers maximize student speaking time by facilitating real-time high quality audio communication between students and teachers in a live classroom setting. Over 60,000 students across four countries have used DiLL to improve language fluency. This session will feature a short presentation on the history of DiLL and the pedagogical benefits that language labs provide, an interactive demonstration of DiLL's features and capabilities, and insights learned from DiLL installations at over 70 schools and universities.
NOTE: If your are unable to attend in person - the monthly SLATE meetings are streamed live using Blackboard Collaborate.
