Main Agenda Item
Open Education Resources
Open education resources serve as an opportunity for faculty and staff
to create their own textbooks and materials, based in their own content
and freely available resources, which correspond to course objectives.
The development of these resources will allow for students to be
provided with a traditional resource while also allowing for students
to save money. Additionally, open resources can be deployed as
electronically, allowing for the integration of multimedia sources into
traditional textual content.
Come join this discussion, as we explore freely available content including Creative Commons content, individuals creating their own textbooks, the concerns, technology, and copyright issues surrounding such a topic. Some individuals at Moraine have used open resources and open textbooks before, plus they are working on a project to create their own open educational resources and to curate resources that are already out there.
