December 2015 SLATE Meeting

Defining Hybrid Learning What to Consider in Balancing F2F vs. Online Learning This workshop will cover definitions of hybrid learning, the history of hybrid learning, what to consider in designing hybrid learning courses, and a group/hand-on activity.  The presenters, Dr. Jacqueline Callery and Michael Sukowski, of the CSU Center for Teaching and Research Excellence have years of experience in hybrid learning and will share what has worked for them over the years. White Elephant Gift Exchange During lunch, we will continue the tradition of having our annual White Elephant Gift Exchange, as we take some time for fun and friendship. A white elephant gift exchange is a holiday party game which usually results in playful rivalries between players trying to get sought after gifts. Each participant will supply one wrapped gift, typically inexpensive (value of at least $5), humorous, or an unused item from home.  The goal of a white elephant party is usually to entertain rather than to gain. I hope everyone will choose to participate in the gift exchange.
