February 2014 SLATE Group Meeting

Main Agenda Item   Course Design Showcase & Panel   Every institution with online courses deals with online course design.  This panel will be an opportunity for institutions to highlight what they are doing in their online courses and compare notes on design do's and don’ts.  Panel members will be invited to share an online course (or more) to highlight the types of tools, activities, and resources they are utilizing and ask the group for suggestions on areas they are still trying to improve. Panel volunteers are still needed and this is a great opportunity for faculty to participate. Contact Sarah Fornero (sfornero@adler.edu) if you would like to be part of the panel. Bring along your faculty to showcase their course. Additional Item - Survey   Moraine Valley CC, is looking into platforms for e-text books.  We would like to get a little input from this community on what platforms may be in use or being considered.  The link below will take you to a Google Docs survey.  We appreciate all contributions to the survey.  The survey is branched in a way that makes it quite short if you are not presently using an open textbook platform or publisher e-text books.
